For these paintings the client (now that word sounds strange) just wanted me to paint my backgrounds. So, effectively she wanted half-finished paintings. Fine by me. When I took them round for her last night she wasn't so keen on the grey at the bottom, but didn't have the heart to send me back home to do them again. I have therefore agreed to go round one afternoon and work some 'nice terracotta colours' into the bottom of the paintings. Which is also fine by me, as I have been promised tea and cakes.
